What is the result of dividing x^3-7 by x+2?
The thing that might be giving you trouble is that we have to account for the missing powers in
x^3 - 7
To rectify this....write this as x^3 + 0x^2 + 0x - 7
So we have
x^2 - 2x + 4
x + 2 [ x^3 + 0x^2 + 0x - 7 ]
x^3 + 2x^2
-2x^2 + 0x
-2x^2 - 4x
4x - 7
4x + 8
So...the result is x^2 - 2x + 4 - 15 / ( x + 2) [ Third answer ]
