take the terms from each bracket with the highest power and multiply them together.

the degree is the power of the answer.

(x^4+ax^7+bx+c)(x^3+dx^2+e)(x+f)(x^3-8x^2+7x-1),

x^4 * x^3 * x^3   = x4+3+3

The constants  a-f  do nothing to change the degree of the polynomial
