Hello Guest!

How do you devide a negitive by a positive fraction?

A fraction is divided by a fraction,

by the dividend multiplied by the inverse of the divisor.

\(\frac{3}{4} :\frac{1}{2} =\frac{3}{4} \times \frac{2}{1}=\frac{6}{4}= 1\frac{1}{2} \)

\(\frac{4}{7} :-\frac{2}{3} =\frac{4}{7} \times -\frac{3}{2}=-\frac{12}{14}= -\frac{6}{7} \)

\(-\frac{4}{7} :\frac{2}{3} =-\frac{4}{7} \times \frac{3}{2}=-\frac{12}{14}= -\frac{6}{7} \)

Greeting asinus :- ) laugh !
