2x + 5y = y + 7x

to isolate x:

Minus y from both sides

2x + 4y = 7x

Minus 2x from both sides

4y = 5x

divide equation by 5

\(x = {4y \over 5}\)

to isolate y:

Minus y from both sides

2x + 4y = 7x

Minus 2x from both sides

4y = 5x

divide equation by 4

\(x = {5x \over 4}\frac{}{}\)

That's a good one Yimpy !!

Also..at the very end there was a typo...I think you mean   \(y = {5x \over 4}\)
