x intercept is when y = 0

You want to find when the equation is equals to zero:

y = 3x - 7

0 = 3x - 7
7 = 3x

x = 7/3

And y intercept is when x = 0

y = 3x - 7

y = 3 * 0 - 7

y = -7

There you go, hope it helped

Sorry, I forgot about the absolute value.

For the y-intercept that we found, it was:

y = -7

Since you have to find the absolute value, y has to be POSITIVE, but in this case it was negative. Therefore, you have to multiply it with -1 to get the absolute value:

y = (-7 * -1)

y = 7
