log(x) - (1/2)log(x+4) = 1

log(x) - log(x+4) 1/2 = 1

log[x/(x+4) 1/2] = 1

Now I need to know what base it is in. I will assume base 10
x/(x+4) 1/2 = 10
etc
This will lead to a quadratic equation that you will have to solve.

You should work through a unit on logs maybe
