Two fair, standard six-sided dice are rolled. What is the probability that one of the two numbers is less than the other number?

The problem is pretty much asking what is the probability that both numbers are not the same

Using Complementary Probability we could minus the chances that both numbers are the same by 1

The chances of both numbers being the same are \(\frac{1}{6}\)

\(1 - \frac{1}{6} = \frac{5}{6}\)
