I need help on my trig homework, i don't really understand it.. i know cos tan and sin and i understand how to find them and set up the equations, but i don't know what to do on this problem. Please help!!

A plane rose from take-off and flew at an angle of 11 degrees with the ground. When it reached an altitude of 500 feet, what was the total distance the plane had flown?

So basically, its asking for the hypotenuse and i keep getting 95.404 , but that is smaller than the altitude, and its supposed to be a bigger number because it is the hypotenuse. i am so confused, somebody please help!?

Hi cassie

Sin(11)=500/h

Sin(11)/500=1/h

h=500/sin(11)

When I did this on the calculator I got 2620 feet. Hope this helps.
