cos4x - sin4x = cos2x
No idea what to do here pls help!!!
cos4x - sin4x → (cos2x + sin2x)(cos2x - sin2x) → 1*(cos2x - sin2x) → cos(2x)

cos2x=1-sin2x
cos4x=(1-sin2x)2=1+sin4x-2sin2x
cos4x-sin4x=1+sin4x-2sin2x-sin4x=1-2sin2x=cos(2x)
cos(2x)=1-2sin2x is a trigonometric identity, you should know it.
but incase you dont know it, ill give you another one that will help you in the future:
cos(a+b)=cosa*cosb-sina*sinb
