x/2  +  y/2   =   7/5

x/2 -   y/2    =  7/12               subtract  the  second equation  from the  first

y  =  7/5  -  7/12    =   [84 - 35 ]  60  =  49/60

And  using either equation

x/2  +  (49/60)/2   =  7/5              multiply through  by  2

x  + 49/60   =  14/5

x  =  14/5  -  49/60

x = 168 / 60  -  49/60   =   119 / 60
