My friends and I were arguing about the quadratic formula. Is (a+b)(a+b)=a^2+2ab+b^2 the quadratic formula? If not, what is the name of that formula?

Thanks!

What you have is not a formula with a standardised name.  It is just the expansion for a perfect square.

quadratic formula   (it should have x = out the front like anon has written.)
