The equation y = -6t^2 - 5t + 56 describes the height (in feet) of a ball thrown downward at 5 feet per second from a height of 56 feet from the surface from Mars. In how many seconds will the ball hit the ground? Express your answer as a decimal rounded to the nearest hundredth.

Height when it hits Mars is = 0

0 = -6t^2 - 5t + 56        Use Quadratic Formula to find  t = 2  2/3 sec    (throw out the negative 't' value ....even on Mars)
