Is there any way to avoid sideways images?

Vertex -1,8    point   -3,0

Vertex form of parabola    y = a(x+1)^2 + 8    sub in point to calc 'a'

                                          0 = a(-3+1)^2 + 8      a = -2

 

y = -2 (x+1)^2 + 8
