If $t$ is a real number, what is the maximum possible value of the expression $-t^2 + 8t -4$?
You get the minimum at t = -8, which gives you a minimum value of -4.
MAX occurs at t = - b/2a = - 8 /(2*-1) = 4
sub in t = 4 to find the max value is 12
(there is no minimum value.... - infinity)
ohh thank you for your help! i knew t = 0 but kept calculating as -4 for some reason. thanks (i cant give you plus 1 for some reason)
