The function y=x^2+x-6 is graphed
- what are the values/roots/ solutions when
x^2+x-6=-4
a) x=-4 and 6 d) x=-3 and 2
b) x=-2 and 1 e) x=-5 and -6
We want to solve this equation for x.
x2 + x - 6 = -4
Add 4 to both sides.
x2 + x - 2 = 0
Factor.
(x + 2)(x - 1) = 0
Set each factor = 0 and solve for x.
x + 2 = 0 and x - 1 = 0
x = -2 and x = 1
Which is b)
Thx @hectictar this assignment is practice for my STARR so I appreciate the help.
