It takes 20 minutes to cut a log into 5 equal size pieces. how long will it take to cut a similar log into 3 equal size

To mke 5 equal peices , you have to make 4 cuts.  To make THREE equal pieces you only have to make TWO cuts, so it will only take 1/2 as long  or  TEN MINUTES !

its a simple cross product,...i think

5/20=3/x

x=3(20)/5

x=12 

it'll take 12min to cut it into 3 equal pieces :)

It will take  3/5 as long....so...

 

3/5 * 20    = 12 min
