Write the equation of the line fully simplified slope-intercept form.  Please help!

Assuming you know what slope intercept form is (it is y = [slope]x + [y intercept]), we need to solve for the slope and the y intercept.

 

SLOPE: 

The slope is rise over run, and in this case (thanks to the graph), we can do the [difference of y] / [difference of x] pretty easily. This is 5 / 2

 

Y-INTERCEPT:

Y-intercept is simple: where the line touches the y-axis. This happens at y = -5.

 

Therefore, the equation y = (5/2)x - 5
