\(\frac{3x^2+2x+1}{x-1}=3x+1\)

Multiply both sides by (x - 1).

3x2 + 2x + 1 = (3x + 1)(x - 1)

Multiply out the left side.

3x2 + 2x + 1 = 3x2 - 3x + x - 1

Combine like terms.

3x2 + 2x + 1 = 3x2 - 2x - 1

Subtract 3x2 from both sides.

2x + 1 = -2x - 1

Add 2x to both sides.

4x + 1 = -1

Subtract 1 from both sides.

4x = -2

Divide both sides by 4.

x = -2/4

x = -1/2
