What is a mean
The mean is just another word for the average.
You add a bunch of numbers together to get the total,
then divide the total by how many numbers there were.
example: the mean of 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, & 17
2 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 11 + 13 + 17 = 58
58 / 7 = 8.2857
The mean is different from the median, in that the median is
just the number that there are the same number of numbers
less than it as there are more than it. In the above example,
the median is 7 because there are three numbers to the left
and three numbers to the right.
