A student says that the function f(x) = (1/0.5)^x is an exponential decay function. Explain the student's error.

Note that   1 / .05=  2

 

So...the function is really   f(x)  = (2)^x

 

And in the form  f(x)  = a(b)^x....if  b > 1..... we have  a growth function
