Math Rule:  ANY number raised to the '0' power is 1

In order to understand this better, use the power rules:

 

take 4^3 and divide it by 4^3

This is because of the power rules 4^(3-3) = 4^0

 

4^3 and 4^3 are obviously the same, so 4^3/4^3 = 1, therefore 4^0 = 1
