8. The farm has horses and emus. The total number of legs on the farm is 120. How many of each animal are on the farm?

 

9. Sally spent $131 on shirts. Fancy shirts cost $28 and plain skirts cost $15. If she bought a total of 7 shirts Then how many of each kind did she buy?

 

these two problems I just can’t figure out. It’s due tomorrow, help me out please?

8) You have to give total number of horses and emus in order to get a unique answer, otherwise, there could be many solutions to the problem.

 

9) Let the number of Fancy skirts = F

Then the number of plain skirts = 7 - F

 

28F + 15[ 7 - F] = 131

28F + 105 - 15F = 131

13F = 131 - 105

13F = 26

F = 26 / 13

F = 2 -Fancy skirts.

7 - 2 = 5 - Plain skirts.
