Radical equation problem

Solve for x:
(2 x+1)/4 = 1

Multiply both sides of (2 x+1)/4 = 1 by 4:
(4 (2 x+1))/4 = 4

(4 (2 x+1))/4 = 4/4×(2 x+1) = 2 x+1:
Answer: | 2x+1 = 4                     x=3/2

I thinks this is supposed to be:

(2x + 1)^(1/4)  = 1   raise  each side to the fourth power

2x + 1  = 1^4

2x + 1 = 1      subtract 1 from both sides

2x  =  0      divide both sides by 2

x = 0
