What is the ratio of a:b, knowing that (a-b)/(a+b)=3/5

The Question says:

   a-b = 3

   a+5 = 5

Now, we can just use trial and error to find "a" and "b"

The sum of the numbers is equal to 5 and their difference is 3.

5,0 ---> This doesn't fulfil the first condition

4,1 ---> This fulfils both conditions 💯

Therefore the ratio is:

4:1

Hope that helps!!! :)

Cross multiply:

5(a-b) = 3(a+b)

5a - 5b = 3a+3b

2a = 8b

a/b = 8/2   =   4:1
