I think this is what the problem is:

\(\frac{(4x^{4})^{\frac{1}{2}}y^{5}}{8x-3\sqrt{y^{12}}}\)

Well the square root of x is the same as saying x raised to the one half power.

The square root of 4x4 is 2x2

the square root of y12 is y6

\(\frac{(2x^{2})y^{5}}{8x-3(y^{6})}\)

y5 divided by y6 is 1/y

Now I think this is the simplest form:

\(\frac{2x^{2}}{8x-3y}\)
