On the surface, that probability problem seems simple. The math is simple, but the logic to arrive at the math requires meticulous care.
The solution to this problem becomes apparent by extracting the relevant sample space and “filtering out” the larger irrelevant data sets. My (corrected) solution is presented here: https://web2.0calc.com/questions/tricky-probability-hints#r16. Melody’s Venn diagram clearly demonstrates how the data sets are distributed. This picture is worth 2304 data points.
