angle j and angle k are complementary angles in a right triangle.the value of tan j is 15/8.what is the value of sin j

tan = y/x

 

We need to find r  which =  sqrt(x^2 + y^2)  = sqrt(8^2 + 15^2)  = sqrt(289)  = 17

 

So

 

sin (j)   = y / r   =  15 / 17
