S=P(1+i)^n  how to find n?

If you had given an actual example, it would be much simpler to show you HOW to solve for n.

1- Divide both sides by P.

2 - Take the Logs of sides

3-Solve for n!. Do you think you can do it?. Try it and let us know. Good luck.

(P+P*i)n=S

n=LOGS(P+P*i)
