(2kg)(450J/(KG x K)) (5 K) Please Help!!

Step 2 of 2 Preview Answer

This is dimensional analysis....it can often help you find the correct answer in the correct units for very long or complex equations (there are some that are MUCH MUCH more complex than this in engineering and physics !)    Lets just drop the numbers first to demonstrate what happens:

kg  x  j/(kg k)  x k      k is degrees kelvin   j is joules

You should be able to see that the 'kg' s will cancel out   and the 'k' s will cancel out and you are left with only j   joules   after you multiply all of the numbers together

Now lets do the math:

2 x 450 x 5  =  4500      we already know that the unit is j     so the answer is 4500 j    or 4500 joules
