Since Mars is about 1.52 times farther away from from the Sun as the Earth is, it therefore takes the light that much longer to reach Mars. Since it takes light about 8 1/3 minutes to reach Earth, then:
8 1/3 X 1.52=9.52 minutes for light to reach Mars.
