In 2008, the total trade between the United States and Japan was $2.04 x 1011. The total trade between the U.S. and Australia was $3.28 x 1010. How many times greater was the trade with Japan than the trade with Australia?

  ($2.04 x 1011) / ( $3.28 x 1010)= 6 9/41 - is the trade with Japan greater than with Australia.

[2.04 x 1011] / [ 3.28 x 10 10 ]  =

[2.04 / 3.28  ] * [ 10 11 / 10 10 ] =

about  0.622 * 10  =

about 6.22  times  [ rounded]

cool cool cool
