What is the 100th term of this sequence?

 

1, 2, 7, 16, 29....

 

I can't figure this out.

The "closed form" of your sequence appears to be:

 

a_n = 2 n^2 - 5 n + 4 . Hence the 100th term is:

 

a(100) =2*100^2 - 5*100 + 4

 

a(100) =19,504
