Shoe Sizes

a.  s  = 3(11.5) - 24

s  =  34.5 - 24

s  = 10.5  ⇒  avg shoe size

b. The y intercept  is - 24.........[ not sure what this means ....  size "-24"  ???]

c.   The x intercept  occurs when s  = 0

0  =  3f - 24

24  = 3f

8  = f         [ in the context of this problem....an 8 inch foot equates to a size "0" ]

d.  The slope   = 3   [in the context of the probelm.......each increase in a one inch foot length results in a shoe size increase of 3]

The second question makes no sense....we don't have the "perimeter"   of a box.......do you mean surface area???

If so, we would have to know the dimensions of the box
