[(5 * x - 1) * 2 ] / 5 = 3     simplify

[(5x - 1 ) * 2] / 5  = 3    

(10x - 2) / 5  = 3       multiply by 5 on both sides

10x - 2  = 15             add 2 to both sides

10x = 17                   divide by 10 on both sides

x = 17/10
