A sculpture is 10 feet long and 6 feet wide. The artist made the sculpture so that the height is the geometric mean of the length and width. What is the height to the nearest tenth of a foot?
Geometric mean = √( 10 * 6) = √60 = about 7.7 ft
P.S. - notice that the geometric mean makes the ratios 10/ √60 and √60 / 6 equal ......check this for yourself....!!!!
Thanks!
