Simplify: 7x-(x+4)=-7

7x-(x+4)=-7   I think you'd actually want to solve this !!!  ...... simplify first........

7x - x - 4 = -7

6x - 4 = -7      add 4 to both sides

6x = -3          divide both sides by 6

x = -3/6 = -1/2
