YOU NEED TO USE BRACKETS WITH QUESTIONS LIKE THESE.

OTHERWISE WE ARE JUST GUESSING WHAT YOU MEAN !  

We can break this up in the following manner:

(4 / -2) * (x^5 / x^3) * (y^-4 / y^4)   (I'm assuming those are exponents on the "y's")

So we have

-2  * x^2 * (y^-4 * y^-4)  =

-2x²y^-8
