why does sin-1of 1.299038105676 not work? I keep getting the message invalid argument.

Remember that the sine lies between +1 and -1. Anything ABOVE in invalid. In your case, -1 should work, but you will a negative answer. If you are trying to take the arcsin or inverse sin of 1.299038105676, it will NOT work, because it is above +1.

The value of the sine of an angle varies from -1 to 1........thus, with the sine inverse of 1.299038105676 , we asking to find the an angle whose sine is > 1........unfortunately, this angle doesn't exist......
