Sine-Cosine-Tangent

I am a little bit confused on sin cos and tan. For example, is the correct way to find cosine of, say, x to do the adjacent/hypotenuse then inverse cosine it? (cosX=28/35 [simplify to 0.8], then cos-1(0.8) to get 53.13010235415585?)

Use cos-1 to find an angle and cos to find the side

also remember SOH-CAH-TOA...
SOA- Sine= opposite over hypotenuse
CAH- Cosine= adjacent over hypotenuse
TOA- Tangent= opposite over adjacent
