slope of (-2,5) and (4.-4)
You are correct Mellie, though I recommend that in your first line that has numbers in you use brackets to ensure there is no confusion.
i.e. (-4-5)/(4--2) is preferable to -4-5/4--2
.
I belive the answer is -1.5
this site can explane it better than me https://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/line-equation-point-slope.html
Formula:
Delta(change in) y/Delta (change in) x=m
-4-5/4--2=m
-9/6=m
-3/2=m.
Hopefully this is correct.
Hi Mellie,
Alan's suggestion is not just preferable it is totally necessary. :)
-4-5/4--2
=-4-5/4+2
=-4-1.25+2
=-3.25
