or you can say.....

slope = \(\frac{\text{rise}}{\text{run}}\)

If you are given two points, ( x_{1} , y_{1} ) and ( x_{2} , y_{2} )

slope = \(\frac{y_1-y_2}{x_1-x_2}\)
