SLOPE

If a line has LESS SLOPE, it is like a hill with less slope....it will become closer to flat ...or less steep

every X coordinate, your graph will go up by 1/2 y coordinate instead of 2.

For instance, y=2x is a graph which has constant slope of 2, while y=x/2 is graph which has constant slope of 1/2. You can use any graphing program to see the difference for yourself
