So yo friends out there? I'm doing my math hw and I have a combine like terms division problem and there is an x on the top and an x squared on the bottom. Would it be an x negative, because when you divide exponents, you subtract? ex. x - x squared= x to the negative first power

x/x^2 → x*x^-2 → x^(1-2) → x^-1 → 1/x
