How do you calculate the scaled diameter of Mercury if the Sun is only 10in?

Well, first what is the diameter of the Sun?=1,392,000Kilometers

Second, what's the diameter of Mercury?  =4,879 Kilometers

So, the ratio of Sun's diameter to Mercury's diameter is=1,392,000/4,879=285.304.

So if the Sun's diameter was 10 inches, then Mercury's diameter would be 285.304 times smaller.

So the scaled diameter of Mercury to the Sun's would be: 10/285.304=.03505 inches or less than 1/28 of an inch. So, your answer is =.03505 inches.
