First multiply all terms by 4/3:

x^2 + 2x = 16/3

Add 1 to both sides

x^2 + 2x + 1 = 1 + 16/3

This becomes

(x + 1)^2 = 19/3

There are two solutions:

A.   x + 1 = sqrt(19/3)   so  x = -1 + sqrt(19/3)

B. x + 1 = -sqrt(19/3)  so   x = -1 - sqrt(19/3)
