Solving 4x+5=9-4x, to find x gives,

Add 4x on both sides: 8x+5=9

Substract 5 on both sides: 8x=4

Divide by 8 on both sides: x=0.5

(check: if x=0.5 then, LHS=4x0.5+5=7 and RHS= 9-4x0.5=7)
