Solve: 6|y|+6=4

is y the output?

This has no solution....to see why.....

6 l y l + 6  = 4    subtract 6 from both sides

6  l y  l   =  -2     divide both sides by 6

l y l   =  -1/3

But absolute value is always a positive quantity, so this is impossible.....
