Let's just subtract the second equation from the first

-5y = 14     divide both sides by -5

y = -14/5

Now using 2x + 10y = 10  and substituting -14/5 for y, we have

2x + 10 (-14/5) = 10

2x - 28 = 10     add 28 to both sides

2x = 38     divide by 2 on both sides

x = 19

So x = 19 and y = -14/5

You should verify these answers in both equations!!

2x +5y = 24
4x +3y = 20

4x +10y =48
-4x +3y =20

0x + 7y =28

7y = 28
y = 4
