4/x + 3/y = 1/z     subtract 4x from both sides

3/y = 1/z - 4/x      Multiply both sides by , then divide both sides by (1/z-4x)

3 / (1/z-4/x) = y

Solve for y:

4/x+3/y = 1/z

Bring 4/x+3/y together using the common denominator x y:

(3 x+4 y)/(x y) = 1/z

Cross multiply:

z (3 x+4 y) = x y

Expand out terms of the left hand side:

3 x z+4 y z = x y

Subtract x y+3 x z from both sides:

y (4 z-x) = -3 x z

Divide both sides by 4 z-x:

Answer: |y = -(3xz)/(4z - x)
