Assuming this is (5x - 3)/6 = x + 2 then multiply both sides by 6

 

5x - 3 = 6x + 12

 

subtract 5x from both sides

 

-3 = x + 12

 

subtract 12 from both sides

 

-15 = x

 

or just x = -15

.
